PE Backed Biotech Start Up

The PE Backed Biotech Start Up is a US-based, quality-driven CDMO that offers end-to-end drug research and development and more to clients of all sizes and stages.

As a business in a highly regulated biotech industry, the brief legally required some very specific criteria around GMP and cGMP. As such, the business had struggled to find people for an extended length of time.

The position required was a business-critical role, Senior Automation Engineer.

By the time STQ Partners were involved, the position had been open for around 12 months in total, so there was a mounting pressure to fill the position. This was a critical role to enable the business to expand its facility and ultimately their bandwidth of manufacturing capabilities.

Due to location of the facility, there was no local talent pool or Biotech businesses within a reasonable distance. Furthermore, budgetary restraints made it virtually impossible to compel people to relocate as it was not competitive enough by industry standard and did not cover the costs of someone doing so.

We immediately mapped out every other CRO/ CDMO business across the entire US and began to map every single individual within them who had strong Automation experience. We crafted a detailed, informative, and standardized pitch and began to systematically engage the talent identified.

Simultaneously, we also began to identify any allied markets that operated under the same regulations and standards.

Having been open for 12 months, we successfully filled this position within 8 weeks.

We assembled a dedicated internal project team and leveraged our software and tools to commence the search. The depth of our search meant that we identified two candidates’ that are offer-worthy, providing the client with choice and also minimising the risk to the client.

This business-critical placement allowed PE Back Biotech Start Up to get their expansion plans back on track.
